Embracing what Norman Vincent Peale called "applied Christianity", results oriented ministry leadership, Chaplain Dale Tippett entered the ministry through volunteering with the U.S. Military veterans' organizations and senior citizen centers. He stays engaged with the communities he serves and is a frequent guest speaker at faith based, business, and civic group events.
Several months after a speaking engagement at a retirement community on Veterans Day 2009, a friendly phone call to the host ended with an offer for me to conduct a chapel service at that community’s Evanston, Illinois location. What was intended to be a trial program ran every Sunday for nearly 5 years! That assignment was the culmination of years of lay ministry (mostly urban outreach) and I loved it. It was during those years that the call of ministry really took hold of me. Since 2015, I have continued as a Bivocational Minister as Chaplain/Pastor at yet another retirement community.
My home is Chicago. I own a residential real estate brokerage, spent the early part of my career in manufacturing, am well versed in personal finance, and am a U.S. Military Veteran. I have raised a family and remain close with my kids. I am a public speaker and volunteer with business, civic, and religious organizations.
My ministry has grown out of those real life endeavors. I have been blessed to serve God right where I am, by serving those right where they are, moreover, meeting them spiritually there as well.
The Chaplain’s role is to listen and to share scriptures. That is what I do. I am grateful to be supported by my wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and friends.
God is good all the time.
